Update! Whoop!

Aahh as I thought. I guess I'm just not in the "writing mood" very often. And I hardly ever have a moment to actually sit down and write something. The letter to my dad is still unfinished too. Well, what can you do. Vancouver Film School is a busy busy place, anyone who manages to keep up a blog regularly deserves a medal in my eyes. I jut don't think it's possible.

So I'm at the start of term 5 of the Animation and VFX program and its pretty crazy how time flies. It seems like only yesterday that I first came to Vancouver to do the classical animation program and yet at the same time like a lifetime ago. It's only been 2 years. Pretty exactly actually, i came here in july 2012. Oh my god. 2 years.
Crap I'm at my busstop.

A few hours later... I have to finish this post at least...

I will be very busy animating like crazy in the next 2 months - hopefully anyway, if I don't have a motivational low again like I did last term. But maybe, if I look at my hero Glen Keane's newest Beauty from time to time it will remind me of why I am here.

Because I adore animation. Because there's nothing that moves me quite as much, nothing else that I get quite this passionate about.

I mean... Just LOOK at it:

Do I really need any more reason?

One day people... One day...

Randomness from VFS :)

So I finally got myself the blogger app so maaayybe, just maybe, i'll post more regularly. It'll be shorter posts and more day to day random things, but it will be fun. Like a commentary on Vancouver Film School life. Random doodles and fotos etc.
lets start with a bit of a recap:
I am now in term 4 (already?! Omg) of the 3D animation an vfx program at Vancouver Film School. About halfway through the program and I am sitting in what is known as "the studio" since the beginning of the week. We're now in full production mode and will mostly be working on our demo reels for the next six months. Excitiiing!!
I feel like the luckiest girl in the world, check out my crazy ass bombastic workstation:

BOOM BABY!

This is my finished sculpture from the sculpture classes we had in term 3:

I should really paint it some time.. But I'm scared I'll mess it up. :P
Sculpture class was pretty hilarious. Compared to most of the fast paced classes at VFS it's super relaxing so the class is usually humming with conversations and laughter.

I always enjoy flipping through my notebooks because although I know I'm doodling a lot when I'm listening I'm usually noooot really conscious of what exactly I am doodling and it's alway hilarious to look at all the randomness in my notes. These are a collection of all the doodles in 3 notefilled note books of 300, 200 and a 100 pages from term 1, 2 and 3 respectively. So it may seem like a lot of doodles but its really not if u consider every single page is filled with notes. I just feel like its important to point this out haha so you don't think I'm  slacking off ;)

This last one is from presentation day at the end of term 3 when the entire class presented their animatics for the first time  to all the mentors and the entire class. It was amazing to see what everyone came up with. We are 34 people so you can't always keep up with where everyone's at so these are great for catching up. But I always draw in the theatre. It's like I can't help it. Those artists and fellow compulsive doodlers out there know though that just because you're doodling doesn't mean you're not paying attention. Quite the contrary actually :D

Aaand to conclude this way longer than initially planned post just 2 little fanart sketches I did hehehe because a little bit if fanart now and the is good for the soul <3

Piece out! :D
